Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker
The Nutcracker ballet from 1892 by Tchaikovsky, has some of the most famous music ever from a ballet. The ballet and the music are very popular around Christmas. The "March" and the "Trepak" are some of my favorites on this recording by Valery Gergiev and the Kirov Orchestra.
